Course Description

Navigating Behavior is designed to help you understand why behavior challenges occur. You will encounter the four functions of behavior, discover how trauma impacts behavior, be introduced to ABC data, and explore the behavior crisis cycle.

You will also gain understanding about how to appropriately respond to behavior challenges using effective behavioral interventions. Personal responsibility and response, the environment, visual tools, sensory tools, and emotional regulation strategies are all explained in-depth. Finally, you will work through several case studies, practicing the various strategies and interventions they just learned about.

The lessons included in this course are: Introduction to Little Light House, Introduction to Behavior, Understanding a Child’s Needs, Strategies and Tools, and When Behavior Challenges Occur. There are quizzes at the end of each lesson and a final quiz at the end of the course. To receive a Certificate of Completion from LLH, a score of 85% or higher must be achieved on the final quiz. The LLH certificate will be issued after the learner completes the quizzes and submits the course feedback form. Quiz completion is not required if a certificate is not pursued. Additional feedback comments and suggestions for the course can be sent to [email protected].
